General Needs and Feasibility Analysis

Church Development Services offers an analysis that will articulate what your desired building construction should cost, what you can afford, if the plan you have selected matches up to your stated need and vision, and a potential time line.

From this report you will be able to better understand the dynamics of your project, what challenges need to be addressed, and what areas are already taken care of.

This is a general report. Its accuracy is based on the accuracy of the answers the church provides. Specific feasibility with regard to your site plan and site work is not included. We will provide, when appropriate, information based on recent historical data to help. The report is NOT computer generated. A person is reading the answers to your questions and applying information that will correspond to your project.

Church Development Services is involved with 8 to 10 projects around the country on a regular basis and will be able to help you with the budgeting process from actual bids and real-time budgeting.

We occasionally underwrite the churches we design and build, thus we understand what most financial institutions or investors are looking for in this process.

CDS will be able to assess from answers in the Church Study and the Financial Worksheet where the strengths and weaknesses appear in your expansion project.

How It Works

You answer 5 to 6 pages of questions. The more complete your answers, the better our analysis and report will be processed. We will spend some time on the phone with a designated person. The Building Chair preferably. If there are apparent gaps in the report this conversation normally helps a great deal.

If you ordered our catalog of plans write in the plan that most resembles your vision.

You may download the questionnaire from our website or call to request it via email or snail mail.

This report is not to be confused with Comprehensive Needs and Feasibility Study, or our Comprehensive Financial Feasibility report. We will not be conducting a demographic study of the church or local area, nor will we be interviewing members of the church. In our more comprehensive services our entire network of partners are involved and when we are done you can “go to the bank” with the report.

Why Do a General Feasibility Study

Church Development Services believes you need to have more than a basic understanding of your expansion project. Establishing a commitment from the congregation or from leadership without having more than a basic understanding can be harmful to the church and derail an expansion campaign before it gets started. We understand that many churches cannot afford comprehensive studies or do not know if they are ready to make such an investment. If you are not ready to invest $200, and the time it takes to answer the questionnaire, and present the follow-up report, then either you have the knowledge within your body or you are not ready to move forward.

We appreciate the opportunity to share with you in this journey. We believe this report will go a long way toward helping you plan wisely and spend wisely.
